The Official Final Fantasy VII Remake Box Art Will Make '90s Kids Cry Tears of Joy

Square Enix has released the official Final Fantasy VII Remake box art and it's what everyone wanted it to be; the same one we got before but prettier. That's right, the iconic image of Cloud Strife looking at the towering presence of Shinra with his Buster Sword in hand is the image you will see when buying this game so expect to cry a bucket load of happy tears. Hell, this writer is already doing that.

Not to jinx this game or anything like that but the box art for this remake is pitch-perfect. While nostalgia-pandering isn't always a good thing, that's practically the reason this remake was made in the first place so they might as well go all the way with it. And if you don't like it? The original game is available in pretty much every gaming system out right now.

The developers have done a great job at ensuring that fans will be pleased with this remake, whether it be the Crisis Core-like combat system, the optional Classic Mode that makes battles similar to the turn-based classic, updated clothes that don't ruin what made these characters great, and so much more.

Of course, there are still those who complain about Tifa wearing a sports bra but you can't please them all.

Honestly, the only way Final Fantasy VII Remake can fail is if they change the story too much. We do have those weird watchmen ghosts that attack the players but we still don't know their purpose so it's too early to say if they'll ruin the story. Having Sephiroth appear early on as illusions isn't a bad decision but could become repetitive if overdone.

Whatever, still excited.

Final Fantasy VII Remake comes out on March 3, 2020, for the PlayStation 4.
