The New 'Power Rangers' Video Game is Basically 'Marvel vs Capcom'

After Marvel vs Capcom Infinite failed to garner a huge audience, despite solid gameplay, fans of the fighting game genre have gravitated towards Dragon Ball FighterZ for their team-based games. There hasn't been much competition since when it comes to three-on-three fighting games though standard one-on-one titles like Mortal Kombat 11 are still fairly popular with fans.

It looks like things might actually change with Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid. Sure, the visuals aren't that great and are actually comparable to the ugly models of Infinite but since this is a budget title (standard edition is $19.99 while the Collector's Edition is $39.99) and actually has some fun-looking three-on-three gameplay, this could be the surprise fighting game of the year.

The gameplay looks fun and furious, though fans might be disappointed with a small roster consisting of 10 fighters, with three more planned as DLC. Still, the gameplay looks pretty sick and at a modest $19.99, you can't complain that much. While it's too early to say if this will be in EVO, the game does look like a fun time.

A modern take on the 25-year franchise, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid showcases stunning graphics with vivid details. Pit current and classic Rangers and villains like never before in team battles. Test your skills online against friends and players from around the world for endless replayability. A streamlined combat system welcomes newcomers with simplified controls while maintaining depth for the most dedicated competitor to learn and master.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid comes out on Spring 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Pre-order the game to get the Green Ranger's V2 skin.
