The Midnight Club finale has left fans with a lot of questions, but the biggest question is, will there be The Midnight Club Season 2?

Creator Mike Flanagan has been known for doing one-and-done projects. But this time, he hinted that the show’s story is continuous, teasing a possible The Midnight Club Season 2.

The Coming of The Midnight Club Season 2

However, amid his hopes to have a second season, the decision to continue still depends on Netflix.

“We probably won’t know for another month or so what Netflix wants to do, but this was very much designed to continue,” Flanagan said during a press event at Netflix’s New York headquarters.

The show is based on the 1994 novel of the same name by Christopher Pike, and as the filmmaker teased that the author has 80 books to his name, they have a lot of materials to pull from.

So, does this mean the answers to the fans’ questions are all in the books?

“Those answers exist but were meant to be for the next season,” Flanagan continued. “If there isn’t one, I’ll put them up on Twitter, and then at least we’ll all be able to talk about it.”

The Questions Surrounding The Midnight Club Season 2

The first season finale left fans with a lot of questions.

Of course, they want to know if Dr. Stanton (Heather Langenkamp) is terminally ill and if she has a connection to the Paragon cult after revealing her Paragon tattoo.

The Midnight Club Season 2 is also expected to dive deeper into Shasta’s story (Samantha Sloyan) and the reason behind the building’s original owners, Stanley and Freelan), continuously haunting Brightcliffe’s hallways.

In addition, Flanagan teased that new club members would come while other original characters would meet their demise.

“The thing we have that the book didn’t is that as we lose our cast members, we’ll have new ones, and eventually, Ilonka orients the kids in,” he explained. “That cycle is something that the book didn’t get to do, and we get to do that.”
