The Mandalorian Season 2's epic finale featured the awe-inspiring return of Luke Skywalker to the Star Wars franchise but despite the magnitude of his cameo, not a lot of fans were thrilled about it and some even had complaints about the way the Jedi master ended up looking in the episode.
Obviously, Lucasfilm cast an actor to serve as a body double for Mark Hamill and used face-capture technology to bring Luke back to life, something that they've previously done.
Looking back, the CGI did look a bit off which is probably why the production company added a new visual artist to their roster and you wouldn't have guessed which person got hired for the job. Deepfake artist Shamook has apparently landed a job at Lucasfilm as Senior Facial Capture Artist and that's all thanks to his impressive version of Luke's grand comeback in "The Rescue".
Taking to his official YouTube page, Shamook explained why he's been missing in action for the last four months and excitingly revealed that he's working on exciting projects under the Lucasfilm banner. On the comments section of his latest upload, Shamook wrote: "As some of you may already know, I joined ILM/Lucasfilm a few months ago and haven't had the time to work on any new YouTube content. Now I've settled into my job, uploads should start increasing again. They'll still be slow, but hopefully not months apart."

Of course, Shamook didn't exactly disclose which project he worked on but I'm guessing he's part of the Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian special Disney+ will release on August 25th. The said documentary will be centered on Luke Skywalker and the process that went with his monumental appearance in the jaw-dropping second season finale.
