Bonafide diehards of the Star Wars franchise are eagerly awaiting updates from Lucasfilm about the production status of The Mandalorian Season 3. For months now, the project has been shrouded by mystery and it's causing major concern within the fandom who think that the Pedro Pascal-led series has been delayed indefinitely. Now, actor and director Carl Weathers finally revealed when fans can expect the show's production to start, and apparently, cameras will begin rolling next month.

During an appearance at the Steel City Con 2021 (via The Direct), the Greef Karga actor finally offered fans some much-needed update regarding Season 3's production status. Not only that, but Weathers also excitingly revealed that he'll be directing an episode of the Emmy award-winning series. "So now, we're gonna start a new season of The Mandalorian in the next month. I get to be in front of the camera again and I get to direct again. So, I hope you stay on the lookout for it, watch it, support it. Please, because I'm not just proud of my work, I'm really proud of the show and to be part of it, you know."

Weathers didn't go into detail about why production had to be delayed when they were originally slated to begin working on the project earlier this year. Still, this is a promising new update for The Mandalorian. Also, it's worth mentioning that Obi-Wan's filming is finally completed so it does make a lot of sense for the hit Star Wars series to kickstart production real soon. Hopefully, everything runs smoothly this time around because they can't afford to have another delay with the show slated to premiere early next year.

The Mandalorian Season 3 will hit Disney+ in 2022.
