The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 Set Catches Fire

The set of The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 almost turned into the real-life Mordor as a fire broke out during filming. Luckily, no Elves, Dwarves, Hobbits, or Humans were harmed by the incident.

Deadline reports that an electrical fire broke out on Monday morning at Bray Studios where The Lord Of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 is being filmed. According to the report, the fire started in a warehouse in the back lot within the set's perimeter. The fire department sent multiple engines to respond to the incident which put a stop to production for about an hour.

The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service issued a statement regarding the incident.

“At 12:26pm on Monday, 3 April, we received reports of a fire at Bray Studios near Windsor,” the statement read. It was also noted that crews from Bracknell, Slough and Maidenhead Fire Stations were sent to the scene. Additionally, there were no casualties as the fire was immediately contained.

This isn't the first time that production on The Rings of Power Season 2 has faced some trouble. It was previously reported that a horse had died on the set of the Amazon Prime series while preparing for a battle scene. The cause of death was revealed to be a cardiac failure.

The death of the horse led to The Rings of Power Season 2 being condemned by PETA for animal cruelty and exploitation. Nevertheless, the series appears to be moving forward with production as it promises bigger battles in the second season.

For now, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 is still in production and has not yet been given an official release date. However, the series is currently expected to premiere with its second season sometime in 2024. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
