The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Gameplay Trailer Takes Us Back to Middle-Earth


Earlier this year, The Lord of the Rings fans got their first glimpse of the upcoming action-adventure game, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, but this week, Nacon has shared a more revealing look at the game in a new gameplay trailer.

The game will follow the story of Gollum (originally known as Smeagol), the iconic creature from J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy books. The latest gameplay trailer shows Gollum crawling, climbing, and exploring the dangerous and visually-stunning terrains of the Middle-Earth.

Nacon shared the trailer on the official social media pages for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. The publisher acquired Daedalic Entertainment, the studio developing the game. Check out the new gameplay trailer below:

As you can see in the trailer, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum features gameplay elements that resemble the popular Prince of Persia series.

"Experience the untold story in The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, a story-driven action RPG where our twisted protagonist is on a quest to regain the only thing precious to him," Nacon said about the new game. "Torn by his fractured psyche, players will have to manage both Sméagol and Gollum on a journey that will take him across famous locales, revealing more about his time as a slave below the Dark Tower and his stray with the Elves of Mirkwood, as he interacts with iconic characters from the series."

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is set to release on September 1 for the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch version will be released at a later date. You can read more details about the game here.
