The Little Mermaid: Halle Bailey Reacts to Overwhelming Trailer Reaction


The first teaser for The Little Mermaid is finally out and people are loving the brief glimpse at Halle Bailey as the live-action version of Ariel. Not surprisingly, Bailey is moved by the overwhelming reaction to the teaser for her upcoming Disney film and she made sure that fans are aware of how grateful she is for their response.

The teaser for The Little Mermaid was dropped during the D23 Expo on Friday and it didn't take long before the first footage from the movie was released online. Although the CGI effects still need a lot of work, the teaser managed to highlight the one thing that people have been looking forward to: Halle Bailey performing the iconic Part of Your World from the animated classic. This was enough to convince everyone that the movie will be well worth the wait.

We're loving the Little Mermaid teaser and Halle Bailey is delighted to know that people are hyping up the film. The former Grownish star took to her official Twitter account to thank fans for their support for the teaser.

"Guys..today has been so overwhelming and incredible," Bailey wrote. "I’m so happy you’re getting to see a peek of everything, thank you for the love .."

The Little Mermaid is directed by Rob Marshall and also stars Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, and Awkwafina as Scuttle. The film will also introduce new characters who did not appear in the animated flick.

The Little Mermaid will premiere in theaters on May 26, 2023.
