The Lincoln Lawyer is a Netflix American legal drama series. The television show is based on the 2008 novel The Brass Verdict written by Michael Connelly. David E. Kelley created the show, while Ted Humphrey developed the series.

Before the novel became a series, it was adapted into a movie in 2011 with Matthew McConaughey starring as Mickey Haller and Brad Furman leading the production as director. The movie told the story of Haller as a defense attorney holding office in his old Lincoln Continental sedan. After spending most of his time defending small-time criminals, he was surprised when he was hired to defend the character played by Ryan Phillippe, a Beverly Hills playboy accused of attempted murder. Haller thought the case was an easy and done deal until he was immersed in more menacing details.

Meanwhile, in the first The Lincoln Lawyer season aired on Netflix, we find Manuel Garcia-Rulfo playing the charismatic Mickey Haller. The series already has an established set of characters and a potential storyline that it may complete production within a year and follow Netflix's trend of releasing sequels annually. If this happens, we may have The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 streaming by May 2023.

There are no confirmed castings yet for the second season of The Lincoln Lawyer, but we can expect to see most of the cast from season 1 return.

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo may return as the charming lawyer Mickey Haller. We may also see Becki Newton as Lorna, Haller's first ex-wife, and Maggie McPherson as Neve Campbell, the second ex-wife. Jazz Raycole may also reprise her role as Izzy Letts.

There is still no news about who will be working behind the lens for The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2.

We can expect directors and writers from the previous season to return. David Grossman, Alonso Alvarez, Bill D'Elia, Erin Feeley, and Liz Friedlander directed episodes for The Lincoln Lawyer Season 1, so they may also come back for season 2. David E. Kelley, Ted Humphrey, and Michael Connelly may also return to write and develop episodes for season 2.

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Plot: What Will be the Plot of the Series?

The first season of The Lincoln Lawyer was based on the book The Brass Verdict. If the show follows the order of the novels, it may be based on Michael Connelly's third book of the series, The Reversal.

The Reversal shows Haller prosecuting instead of defending the criminal. This plotline introduces Jason Jessup, a convicted child murderer who is set free after new DNA evidence has come up and exonerates him. Haller is unconvinced of Jessup's innocence and believes that when the opportunity comes, Jessup will kill again.

Haller agrees to prosecute the case only if he can choose the LAPD investigator who will work with him, and comes Harry Borsch. Haller and Borsch team up to revive the case and overcome all the challenges to bring Jessup to justice.

Sometime in June 2022, the plot of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 was confirmed to be based on the novel, The Fifth Witness. In The Fifth Witness, Haller defends long-standing client Lisa Trammel, who is a suspect in murdering the Mitchell Bondurant, a very wealthy man. There is one peculiar thing about this case though - the victim was a tall man standing at six-foot-two, but he was murdered with a hammer blow from behind, right on the top of his head.
