The Last of Us Series Begins Production as Gabriel Luna Shares Awesome BTS Cast Photo

Things are finally moving forward to The Last of Us. Gabriel Luna has confirmed that the upcoming series adaptation of the Naughty Dog video game has begun production. The Agents of SHIELD star made the announcement by sharing an awesome behind-the-scenes look at the cast.

Luna shared the photo on his official Instagram account. The image shows Luna with co-stars Pedro Pascal and Nico Parker as well as members of the crew. Check it out below.

"Already love these folks," Luna wrote before adding the hashtags #MillerTime and #thelastofus. The first hashtag is clearly a reference to their characters. Luna has been confirmed to play Tommy Miller while Pascal has been cast as his brother Joel. Parker, who only joined the cast yesterday, will portray Joel's daughter Sarah.

It's great to see that the actors who will play the Millers are getting along just fine. Hopefully, we'll get more awesome updates on production in the next few weeks.

The Last of Us will also star Game of Thrones actress Bella Ramsey as Ellie, a young girl who might have the cure to a terrible disease that transforms humans into hostile creatures. Believing in Ellie's importance, Joel must escort the teenager across a post-apocalyptic world in hopes of saving humanity.

For now, The Last of Us has not yet been given an official release date. However, the series is expected to have a lengthy production that will last until July next year. With that in mind, there is a possibility that the show will premiere on HBO by late 2022. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
