If you've been playing The Last of Us Part II, there's a huge possibility that Abby is your least favorite character right now. Unfortunately, some gamers are taking their hatred for Abby a little too far. Actress Laura Bailey has just admitted that she has been getting death threats for providing the voice of the character.
Bailey took to her official Twitter account where she shared several screenshots of messages from The Last of Us 2 fans who are unhappy with Abby. Check it out below.
"Man. I try to only post positive stuff on here... but sometimes this just gets a little overwhelming. I blacked out some of the words cuz, ya know, spoilers," Bailey wrote. Nevertheless, she concluded her tweet on a hopeful note.
"Side note. Thank you to all the people sending me positive messages to balance it out. It means more than I can say," Bailey wrote.
It's disappointing to see that some people simply cannot manage their own feelings about a game, especially when the one they hate is a fictional character. Hopefully, the death threats will cease as gamers realize that Bailey isn't Abby.
Although it's stressful to know that Bailey is going through tough times because of what happens in The Last of Us Part II, it's also important to note that her performance was convincing enough for people to associate her with Abby. If you haven't started playing the game yet, it might be time to find out why Abby is such a powerful character.
The Last of Us Part II was developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive. The title is currently available on PlayStation 4.
