The Killer’s Shopping List episode 5 gets more intense as Ahn Dae Sung and Saeng Sun start working together to confirm the real identity of the new potential murderer.
The Killer’s ShoppingList is a comedy thriller series based on the novel of the same name by Kang Ji Young. It tells the story of a murder case on the outskirts of Seoul. A supermarket receipt becomes the evidence as the cast members start a hilarious hunt for the suspect.
Lee Kwang Soo plays Ahn Dae Sung’s role, a part-time worker at MS Mart who has an excellent memory. His girlfriend, Seolhyun’s Do Ah Hee, works as a police officer. The two characters then join forces to solve the mysterious murder case.
Will Ahn Dae Sung, Do Ah Hee, and Han Myung Sook finally find the culprit this time?
The Killer’s Shopping List Episode 4 Recap
The Killer’s Shopping List episode 4 presented several shocking turns of events.
Ahn Dae Sung suspects Saeng Sun due to the feminine items he found inside his locker. He also thinks that he is the one who followed Yachae on her way home.
While everyone is working inside the MS Mart, Yachae suddenly screams after someone throws a rock and breaks the store’s glass wall. It turns out that Oh Cheon Woo comes back to get revenge on Ahn Dae Sung and his family for ruining his life.
As he tries to defend himself, detective Choi Ji Woong overhears that Ahn Dae Sung truly almost killed the man years ago. He ends up being detained for two days and becoming the new murder suspect.
Since Han Myung Sook is determined to clean his name, the matriarch starts helping her son and Do Ah Hee to find the culprit. They focus on Jung Wook and Gong San, while Do Ah Hee and Kim Doo Hyun keep their eyes on Saeng Sun.
After finding out that Seo Yool might be the key witness in Kwon Bo Yeon’s murder case since she found the victim’s slipper, Ahn Dae Sung and his mother start searching for her and end up breaking into Saeng Sun’s unit. However, they learn that the MS Mart fish section staff is not the murderer.
The episode’s last scene shows a terrified Seo Yool lying down and continuously saying she is sorry, hinting that she is somewhere else.

The Killer’s Shopping List Episode 5
The episode starts with Seo Yool as she runs alone on the road in the middle of the night after managing to escape from her kidnapper. The young girl, who is currently the only witness in the first murder case, runs in barefoot as she seeks help from anyone.
Her father, Seo Cheon Kyu, searches for her after Ahn Dae Sung tells him that Seo Yool is a witness to the crime. Oh Cheon Won suddenly appears and refuses to give her the phone.
A flashback plays after, showing Saeng Sun asking her whether she sees the killer’s face. The young girl says she does not know who the killer is and runs away from him. She hides her phone inside the pot behind the trash bags. Oh Cheon Won sees her and gets the phone.
He tells her that he found interesting things inside the phone, hinting that there are videos saved in it. While he refuses to give the phone back, the chairwoman appears and throws a can at his head, allowing Seo Yool to get back her mom’s phone.
Oh Cheon Woo gets accused of harassing Seo Yool, and the event causes Ahn Dae Sung, Do Ah Hee, and Han Myung Sook to talk about the incident with Kim Doo Hyun.
According to the police officer, something about the incident seems to be off and says that Oh Cheon Woo might be the culprit all along.
However, Ahn Dae Sung says Oh Cheon Woo might not be the culprit since Seo Yool did not say something about the man. He also notes that the kid was barefoot – a sign that she had to run away quickly from her kidnapper.
After hearing Ahn Dae Sung’s findings, Kim Doo Hyun goes to Oh Cheon Won’s unit and starts searching for Seo Yool’s shoes. After the search, he remembers how he helped him years ago by not arresting him.
Meanwhile, the three lead characters start to talk about the timing as the culprit suddenly kept Seo Yool on the day they discovered that she could be a witness. Seo Cheon Kyu calls them to let them know that the child is already asleep and thank them for helping him find her.

Suddenly, Seo Yool seems to be having a bad dream that she yells, “Miss, no!” – raising suspicion that the killer might be a woman after all. She asks him about her mother again, but Seo Cheon Kyu asks her to sleep and assures her that her mother would be back if she behaves.
The father also asks her not to go to the supermarket and hang out with the “supermarket guy.”
The next day, Ahn Dae Sung braves himself to talk to Seong Sun after suspecting him. Seong Sun, meanwhile, seemingly suspects Meat/Jung Yook. The duo then starts talking about him, with Seong Sun suggesting that he could follow his co-worker and asking Ahn Dae Sung not to let Jung Yook walk Yachae home again.
Saeng Sun reportedly feels suspicious of Jung Yook because of his actions toward Yachae, which seemingly show his obsession despite her being a married woman.
Han Myung Sook notices that Jung Yook has been preoccupied with Yachae all day long. Ahn Dae Sung decides to follow the two on Yachae’s way home.
She questions Jung Yook as he knows that she lives on the third floor. Because of his worrying behavior, she asks him not to walk her home ever again.
But after the MS Mart employee reaches home, someone suddenly enters her unit’s pin. She immediately hides inside her room and locks her door, but a knife suddenly goes through as the man attempts to enter.
Kim Doo Hyun and Do Ah Hee respond to the 112 call while Ahn Dae Sung assures that Jung Yook cannot be the culprit. However, Jung Yook remains unresponsive to Ahn Dae Sung’s calls and spends his time sketching creepy things inside his room.
Amid the worrying events in the neighborhood, Ahn Dae Sung and Do Ah Hee share a sweet moment before starting their day in their respective workplaces.
The Killer’s Shopping List episode 5 also sees Yachae being terrified that she decides to quit her job at the MS Mart. Jung Yook looks worried about not seeing her again, but Yachae is determined to leave her job after the terrifying incident.
While doing rounds, the chairwoman, Yang Soon, notices the running electricity again in an empty unit. She checks the place herself as the doorknob is broken, seeing a huge fridge in one of its rooms.
After opening it, she seemingly sees something shocking – but someone holds her and tries to stop her from yelling.
Seo Yool also visits the MS Mart again despite her father’s request. She notices that Yachae is no longer around, so she asks Han Myung Sook where did Veggie Lady go. She says something frightening, asking Han Myung Sook whether Yachae thinks she is safe outside the supermarket.
At the end of the episode, a new murder case – involving the chairwoman – happens.
