The DC Universe may be ushering in a new chapter in the coming months but it won't be fully realized until all of the films that were already on the slate pre-James Gunn and Peter Safran are released. One of the projects fans are eagerly anticipating is Ezra Miller's standalone The Flash film which has been in development hell for years.

Serving as the DCU's true dive into the multiverse, the film is expected to feature a ton of cameos from past and present characters who will either help Barry Allen get out of the mess he made or become thorns in his side.

Speaking of, it looks like the upcoming film will feature more than one villain. The official Funko Pop! line for The Flash just got leaked online months ahead of the film's release and it reveals that Man of Steel villain General Zod, played by Michael Shannon in the first-ever DCU film will return 10 years after the Zack Snyder-directed blockbuster was released.

Also featured in the wave are multiple iterations of The Flash, Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton's versions of Batman, Iris West, Supergirl, and surprisingly enough, Wonder Woman who was previously reported to have been removed from the film. Check out the spoilery images below:

It's safe to assume that Zod will only play a minimal role in the film and chances are, he's only there to establish Supergirl's side arc. It's quite unfortunate though that Henry Cavill was removed from the project as it would have been a full-circle moment between him and Shannon who were responsible for kickstarting the DCU.

DC's The Flash is scheduled for theatrical release on June 16, 2023.
