The biggest mystery in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is undoubtedly the identity of Power Broker. The mysterious villain had been hinted at since the first episode of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series but we have yet to find out who they are. On the other hand, fans are convinced Power Broker has been in the show for some time now. But is it true that Sharon Carter is Power Broker?
The existence of Power Broker was first teased in the premiere episode's opening credit sequence where we see a statement: "Power Broker is watching." However, the character is not referenced until the third episode, which also happens to be named after the villain. Fans were also quick to notice that Power Broker marks Sharon's first appearance in the show.
Who is Power Broker?
In The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Power Broker allegedly runs the criminal city island of Madripoor. The character is later revealed to have hired Doctor Wilfred Nagel to recreate the Super Soldier serum that was stolen by the Flag-Smashers.
We don't get to learn more about Power Broker in the next episodes of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. However, it is clear that this is someone who keeps a close eye on everything happening in Madripoor and around the world. But has their identity finally been revealed?
Is Sharon Carter Power Broker?
Fans have been theorizing that Sharon is Power Broker since Episode 3 and there have been more clues in the next two episodes. People have pointed out that she had access to satellites that not a lot of people who are on the run would normally have. In addition to that, it has been noted that she doesn't use an iPhone.
Perhaps the strongest clue in the theory is in Episode 5 when it is revealed that Sharon has been in contact with Georges Batroc. At one point, she is shown calling someone who speaks French and then Batroc suddenly meets up with the Flag-Smashers with the intention of helping them so he could get to Sam Wilson.
Will Power Broker be Revealed in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Finale?
For now, we can't be sure about Sharon being Power Broker but she is up to something shady in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Maybe she is trying to get back at the government that forced her into hiding. Or perhaps Power Broker is Mephisto (I'm kidding, but who knows?). Nevertheless, the truth could be revealed soon.
