The Boys' Season 2 finale was home to a lot of great and shocking moments and one scene that has been getting a lot of attention all over social media is the sequence that seemed to take a major jab at Avengers Endgame's brief A-Force team-up. The uber controversial Women of Marvel moment from the MCU film has been a subject of debate amongst fans, with some people thinking it was an empowering sight to behold while others calling it a forced and cringeworthy scene.

Now, The hit Amazon Prime show's creator Eric Kripke pretty much confirmed that the scene which sees Queen Maeve, Starlight, and Stormfront was a direct parody of the Avengers: Endgame scene. According to Kripke, showrunner Rebecca Sonneshine absolutely hated the idea and it inspired her to come up with the "girls get it done" scene. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kripke recalled: "As for "girls get it done," a lot of that came from our executive producer, Rebecca Sonneshine, who came in after the weekend Endgame opened. She was just furious. I saw it, too, and I was like, "That was the dumbest, most contrived—" And she's like, "Don't get me started." She found it condescending and I agreed. So that just created for us a target, a satirical target. When there's something really ridiculous in either superhero or celebrity or Hollywood culture, we'll immediately go after it. It's an easy shot."

It doesn't come as a surprise to me anymore, to be perfectly honest and I personally think it was only natural for them to do such a daring scene. Lest we forget that The Boys is a series that is meant to show the dark and ugly side of being a superhero and all the things that come with it. I admire the series' showrunners for sticking to their guns despite the guaranteed backlash that was coming their way. In the end, it proved to be the right move as it generated a lot of buzz in the comic book community. And while I understand that it wasn't anyone's cup of tea, so was the A-Force scene, right? Still, I'm pretty positive it was all done in the spirit of good fun and nothing more.
