It would be an understatement to say that fans are eager to see Jensen Ackles' (Supernatural) Soldier Boy in action in The Boys Season 3.

Season 3 of The Boys will feature some fascinating new characters, according to reports. Payback, a superhero team, based on the comics, will be one of the new superheroes to make their movie debut. This includes one of Vought's first superheroes, Soldier Boy, played by Ackles.

Since he was cast about the same time that Season 3 was revealed, Ackles' arrival on The Boys has been a long time coming. Soldier Boy is a naive and too patriotic hero in the comics who longs to join the Seven. The Boys, however, is putting its own twist on him.

Jensen Ackles Hints How Soldier Boy is Introduced in The Boys Season 3

Ackles recently appeared on Michael Rosenbaum's podcast Inside of You, where he revealed something intriguing about his role on The Boys: he explained his introduction. In response to a discussion about his surprisingly thick beard in Season 3, Ackles revealed where viewers will first see Soldier Boy:

“So, what happens is - and I don't think this is any secret, I'm not giving anything away - they kind of find me, and I've been essentially in captivity for a while. And so when they do, I'm bearded, and I look like 'Cast Away.' But then they clean me up and I get my superhero outfit back on, and I go to town.”

The Boys Season 3 Release Date

The Boys Season 3 release date has been announced for June 3. The first three episodes will be released then, with the next five episodes following every Friday.

The conclusion of The Boys Season 2 means that the cast of The Boys Season 3 has been shaken up. There hasn't been any official word on who will be returning, but given what has happened, we can certainly make an educated guess.

Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie (Jack Quaid), Frenchie (Tomer Capon), Mother's Milk (Laz Alonso), and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) are all expected to return and were spotted during filming.

As for the Supes, there’s Homelander (Antony Starr), Maeve (Dominique McElligott), Starlight (Erin Moriarty), A-Train (Jessie Usher), and Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) forming the Seven. It's also likely that the Deep (Chace Crawford) will be around. And if the actor's schedule allows, expect Vought CEO Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito) to make some appearances.
