There's no denying that the MandoVerse was responsible for helping reinvigorate the Star Wars franchise after the uber-polarizing sequel trilogy failed to meet expectations, ending in a disastrous fashion.

However, it's been mostly hit or miss for Lucasfilm's streaming offerings with the most recent season of The Mandalorian failing to surpass or even replicate the success of its predecessor.

Another show fans were seemingly not invested in is The Book of Boba Fett. Despite its poor performance, the spinoff series top-billed by Temuera Morrison has reportedly been greenlit for a second season. However, a new report claims that's no longer the case.

As per Making Star Wars' sources (via Bespin Bulletin), Boba Fett is set to make his MandoVerse return in the fourth season of The Mandalorian after being missing in action in Season 3.

However, the chances of Temuera Morrison headlining a second season of The Book of Boba Fett may be up in smoke as the outlet claims that the show is not in active development. Here's what the site had to say:

"I had touched base with sources [regarding the November rumor] and they hadn’t got back to me, but when they did I’d made up my mind that asking that was a bad idea. So I just asked them about what was going on and it’s a whole lot of nothing basically is what’s going on. But I did get more hits on the Boba Fett thing."

"So I think Boba Fett is in for Mando 4 and I don’t think there’s another show, and nobody knows what the other codenames that have been floating around are – specifically Ghost Track 17, but I think that was just a placeholder for something that was going to happen, but didn’t happen and they just keep it around in case something else does happen and they’ll take that name."

As unfortunate as it is, at least we're getting Boba back for Mando Season 4. Hopefully, Jon Favreau will be able to grant Morrison's request of seeing the famed bounty hunter return to his badass ways.

All episodes of The Book of Boba Fett are available to stream on Disney+.
