It's still unclear whether Season 9 will be The Blacklist's final season. Things have changed dramatically since Megan Boone and Jon Bokenkamp left the program, but NBC has yet to confirm or deny the likelihood of a Season 10 renewal.

Although viewers were taken aback by Boone's departure, the cast and crew were not surprised. Boone's decision to leave the show was made well before Season 9 of The Blacklist was renewed. This allowed the writers time to come up with a good ending for Liz.
