The Bachelorette alum Nate Olukoya recently broke his silence regarding his split from his former fiancée, Michelle Young. During a recent interview, Olukoya admitted that he was the one who broke up with Young, and he did it via phone, which was, in his words, a d*** move.
Nate Olukoya Reveals He Was The One Who Broke Up With Michelle Young
During his conversation with Nick Viall on The Viall Files podcast, Nate Olukoya revealed that Michelle Young changed abruptly after they got engaged. He also said that he and Young broke up three times throughout the span of their relationship, and they also had some huge fights that freaked him out.
“I broke up with her over the phone. You don’t want to break up with someone, especially your fiancée, over the phone. t was her birthday weekend. We’re all here in L.A. because she and I got invited to this Wango Tango event. At the beginning of the weekend, things were kind of rocky. It got even rockier. Wango Tango happened. She and I got into an argument right before doing all those press interviews and whatnot,” Olukoya said (via Life & Style).

Nate Olukoya And Michelle Young Had Several Fights In The Lead-Up To Their Split
He said that during their last day in Los Angeles, he and Young had a conversation that was seemingly headed toward the direction of a split. However, it wasn’t their first time having talks about breaking up.
On Jan. 1, the exes reportedly had a major fight, and the day after, they had another huge fight that freaked Olukoya out. He said that he was so surprised by what happened that he refused to walk the red carpet with Young at the CMAs.
“I remember we were talking to each other and I was like, ‘I don’t feel comfortable going to CMAs.’ I was frustrated as hell, crying on the phone with my mom, and Michelle calls me. I thought she had just got home, but she was still in the airport, unfortunately, because that makes this story even worse. She’s like, ‘Hey if we’re not doing CMAs next week we have to give them a reason why.’ And I just blurted out, ‘We’re not doing CMAs because I can’t be with you anymore.’ So yeah, I broke up with her over the phone, which is a d–k move,” he said.
Nate Olukoya Admits He Misses The Michelle Young That He Fell In Love With
In the end, Olukoya revealed that he doesn’t have regrets. After all, she fell in love with Young at some point, and he misses the woman that he fell in love with before.
“Really quickly after everything was said and done, after the engagement, after we started going into the everyday motion of lives… things just started to shift. Michelle and I, at the beginning of that relationship, was probably one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced. We had so much fun. … I miss the Michelle I fell in love with for sure. … I’m not sure I miss the Michelle I broke up with,” he concluded.
Young has not yet responded to Olukoya’s recent revelations about their relationship.
