The Amazing Spider-Man Director Marc Webb in Talks to Helm Disney’s Snow White Remake

Like it or not, Aladdin was another huge hit for Disney, and the live-action remakes are just going to keep on coming. One of their projects down the line is a remake of Snow White, and Disney may have found someone to helm the movie.

As per Variety, the studio is currently in talks with The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb to direct the live-action remake of Snow White. Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl on the Train) is said to be in talks to write the script with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Aladdin) set to write new songs for the movie as well.

Admittedly we got two Snow White movies in the past few years (Mirror Mirror, Snow White and the Huntsman)—three if you count The Hunstman: Winter's War from 2016. With the movie still in talks, I imagine the release of Snow White could come sometime after 2021, which could be enough time to get everyone looking for a new Snow White… probably.

With Aladdin not feeling like a Guy Ritchie movie at all, I have a feeling that Snow White will just be a cash grab for Webb. He hasn't really made any big hits in his career recently, and maybe a Disney deal will get him back on top. He could bring something interesting to the table, but I doubt Disney would give him the freedom to really go all out with a blockbuster fantasy movie.

Well, 500 Days of Summer was amazing, though. More of that, please.

No release date has been set for Disney's live-action Snow White.
