Star Wars: The Acolyte Unveils Its Official Cast as Production Begins

Lucasfilm has finally unveiled the official cast list for the upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte. This comes as they also confirmed that production for the series has already started in the United Kingdom by sharing a behind-the-scenes set photo of showrunner and pilot director Leslye Headland working with the cast.

As already previously reported, Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Jodie Turner-Smith, Manny Jacinto, Charlie Barnett, and Dafne Keen are all confirmed as part of the cast. In addition, they revealed that Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), and Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), have also joined the series.

You can check their announcement post here:

The series is described as "a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated."

Unlike any other Star Wars TV show, The Acolyte is set during the High Republic era when the Jedi Order is at its prime and it will be approximately around 100 years before the events of The Phantom Menace.

Headland created the series and serves as the showrunner, executive producer, and director of the pilot episode. Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef will also serve as executive producers while Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson are producing.

This is the first time that Lucasfilm has made any official announcement on the status of The Acolyte since confirming Stenberg's casting a few months ago. This should excite fans who have been looking forward to any official update on the highly-anticipated series after years of being in development.
