Tarik Explains Why It's CS:GO's Fault That Pro Players are Moving to VALORANT

VALORANT has become the #1 FPS game for esports, surpassing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), and it's not surprising many professional players are moving to Riot Games' 5v5 tactical shooter from Valve's older title.

Tarik 'tarik' Celik recently said that "you can't blame them" for leaving, due to the lack of opportunities in the North American region.

Last year, Riot entered the FPS genre with the launch of VALORANT, and despite CS:GO's huge community of players, the release made many pros switch to VALORANT for a fresh start, which isn't very surprising given the similarities of both games.

With more CS:GO pros like Stewie2K considering to move, former Evil Geniuses pro Tarik shared his thoughts on why they are making the switch.

During his recent stream, Tarik responded to a fan who donated and asked what he thinks about why more CS:GO pros are switching to VALORANT.

"It's definitely unfortunate, but you can't blame them because there's no opportunity for those in NA," Tarik explained. "It sucks but that's just the situation right now. There's just not enough team salary in NA and also people are starting to get bored with CS I guess. It's something new and exciting, but I agree it's unfortunate."

Tarik's comments echo what many pros think on why more pros are making the switch to VALORANT.
