After CBS' unceremonious cancellation and quick revival of S.W.A.T, the Shemar Moore-led police drama has found a new streaming home on Netflix.

According to Deadline, the streaming giant will release all five seasons of the show this May, with S.W.A.T. Season 6 set to join in the fall. The seventh and final season will conclude the series for good.

Cancellation Drama

Just last week, CBS shocked fans of the popular police procedural series when it canceled the show without any explanation. However, the network reversed its decision and announced that the series would return for S.W.A.T. Season 6 after fan outcry.

And now, the show has found a new home on Netflix, providing fans with the opportunity to revisit all of the past seasons and catch up before the final season.

S.W.A.T follows Sergeant Daniel 'Hondo' Harrelson (played by Shemar Moore) as he takes over as the leader of the Special Weapons and Tactics unit in Los Angeles. As a former marine born and raised in LA, Hondo is the perfect candidate to lead the highly-skilled team.

However, as a Black man, he is often stuck between the police force and the local community, trying to navigate difficult issues while making sure that everyone is protected and served.

S.W.A.T. Streaming Details

As part of CBS' deal, the current seasons of S.W.A.T are available on Paramount+ for the duration of their broadcast run and a few months after. Hulu also has the first three seasons of the series available to stream.

On Netflix, co-showrunner Shawn Ryan's newest series, The Night Agent, had an impressive debut season, placing in the weekly top ten.

While the release date for the seventh season of S.W.A.T is unknown, fans can catch up on all the past episodes on Netflix starting May 17. The show's addition to the streaming platform will allow even more viewers to discover the series and join in on the excitement
