Since its founding a decade ago, Studio Trigger has created several popular anime series and movies that have captivated audiences in and outside Japan. Now, there’s hope that Studio Trigger’s work will reach even more people through Fortnite.

At Anime Expo 2022, Trigger held a panel that featured a look at upcoming projects, including Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. There, a Trigger exec revealed to fans that they are also interested in a Fortnite collaboration.

Specifically, Trigger director and producer Hiromi Wakabayashi answered questions from fans in attendance.

When asked about what project the studio wants to do next, Wakabayashi mentioned that he is a big fan of Fortnite and that Trigger is interested in designing a battle suit or skin for the game (via Comicbook.com).

Among the attendees at the panel was someone from Epic Games. And based on the panel, it seems that they will push to make the collaboration happen.

While a Studio Trigger and Fortnite collab is not official, the fact that there’s interest on both sides might make it a reality soon.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see a collab like this either, especially as Fortnite has already worked with several anime shows for skins and other in-game items.

Meanwhile, Trigger isn’t a stranger to video games as some of its shows have received video game adaptations such as Kill la Kill the Game: IF and Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time

If a Fortnite collab does happen, it’ll be interesting to see if the studio will create original skins or if it will feature in-game items based on existing Trigger IP.

Even if the collab won’t feature new work, lots of anime fans on Fortnite will likely still be delighted to see skins based on Trigger’s popular shows.

In case you’re unfamiliar, Trigger is an anime studio founded in 2011 by former Gainax employees, Hiroyuki Imaishi and Masahiko Otsuka. The studio is known for a range of titles, including Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia, and SSSS.Dynazenon.
