The cast of Stranger Things practically grew up together on set, so there is no doubt that Finn Wolfhard and Noah Schnapp treat each other like family during and off work hours. Recently this year, Schnapp came out as gay on a TikTok video which featured the fact that he is pretty much similar to his role as Will Byers, after all.
Schnapp’s Stranger Things co-star Wolfhard admitted in an interview with GQ that he is very much supportive of his friend’s news. Though they are not as close as Millie Bobby Brown, Wolfhard says he is very much proud of Schnapp’s coming out. Check out his full quote below:
“When I saw it, I just had a big smile on my face,” Wolfhard said, “I was just really proud of him.”

The Mike Wheeler actor continued on to say how despite not being able to talk every day nowadays, he still sees Noah as his family: “We’re not on everyday-text vibes in any way, and not because… do you text your cousins every day? Probably not. They’re our family. We’ll talk on each other’s birthdays. We’ll talk once in a while. But in the same way that family works, if I ever needed anything, they’re there.”
Seeing as Will was technically also revealed to be gay in Stranger Things Season 4, the finale season of the series is expected to have a resolution for Will’s love towards Mike Wheeler. To that, Wolfhard said, “As far as the Mike and Will relationship goes… I would imagine Mike is going to be totally accepting of Will [though], and I really want Will to have a really happy ending. I think he will.”
