Stranger Things Season 5 Episode 1’s title, The Crawl, has been revealed, and it shows another connection to the classic game, Dungeons & Dragons, which heavily inspires the series.

If the episode’s title has something to do with DnD’s dungeon crawl, it just proves that Stranger Things Season 5 premiere will be instantly action-packed.

Dungeons & Dragons’ Dungeon Crawl

According to ScreenRant, a dungeon crawl is an event where players have to navigate a complicated world where they face monsters, avoid traps, solve puzzles, and win treasures.

So if the fifth and final season’s first episode is based on this game, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and the rest of the gang will be in action this early.

The fourth season finale saw the Upside Down leaking into Hawkins, which may prove this theory. It may have opened the tunnels down the town, which may work as the dungeon crawl’s labyrinth.

So, the fan-favorite characters may face different monsters and solve mysteries that may tie up all the series’ loose ends.

This also hints that Stranger Things Season 5 itself will be bigger and bolder than its predecessors.

Eleven and the Rest of the Gang in the Upside Down

In addition, the title of Stranger Things Season 5 Episode 1 may suggest that Eleven and her group of friends will spend a lot of time in Upside Down.

This way, they can lure Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) back instead of bringing the fight to Hawkins and letting him spread darkness in the town that may harm its citizens.

However, The Crawl may also mean other things. It may be about Vecna’s crawl away from the Creel house after being defeated by Nancy (Natalia Dyer), Steve (Joe Keery), and Robin (Maya Hawke).

It may also hint at Eddie’s (Joseph Quinn) possible return, despite his heroic death in the previous season. It has been said that The Crawl mirrors the lyrics of Metallica’s “Master of Puppets,” which Eddie performed to get the demobats’ attention and buy time for Nancy, Steve, and Robin to catch Vecna.
