Sink has become an integral part of the series since her character was introduced in the second season. Aside from having a strong bond with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and the rest of the group, she has also developed a romantic relationship with Caleb. So, what will happen to their romance in Stranger Things Season 5?
The Future of Max, Caleb's Romance in Stranger Things Season 5
Lucas and Max break up after the tragedy she experienced in the third season.
Caleb tried his best to pursue her again by being on her side, while Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) targeted her as his next victim.
However, when they are just about to rekindle their romance, arranging a movie date together, Max is left in a coma after facing Vecna in the Upside Down.

So, what would happen to their romance?
In an interview on the Variety Awards Circuit podcast, Sink believed Max and Lucas might still end up together, though she might leave Hawkins in general.
"I feel like, after everything Max went through, if she ever wakes up, then I think she would just flee I think she's gonna get out, get out of Hawkins. She's too smart to stay there," she said.

"But she's also a very loyal friend, so who knows? It'll be conflicting, but…yeah, I think [she and Lucas will end up together]," she continued. "I mean, they're really cute, aren't they? And the little like, note exchange, that was really sweet. I think we gotta see something. There's definitely room to grow there."
Will Max Wake Up in Stranger Things Season 5?
The previous season finale saw Max hospitalized after slipping into a coma. So, will she still wake up?
According to ScreenRant, the time jump the co-creator Ross Duffer hinted might help Max return to consciousness.

It may happen as early as the premiere episode. How will that happen? A supernatural intervention may occur to wake Max up.
It can be either that Vecna will intentionally release her from her coma to send a message to Eleven, or the latter may finally be able to bring her back to life.
