Everyone is in danger in Stranger Things Season 5 after the Upside Down makes it into Hawkins. The show is now preparing for its final showdown, and Nancy (Natalia Dyer) may become Vecna’s (Jamie Campbell Bower) next target.
Sure, anyone may fall victim, but the previous season has already hinted at Vecna’s next target, which may be Nancy. But instead of killing her, the villain may torture her first by killing her loved ones in Stranger Things Season 5.
Vecna’s Curse
Nancy experienced Vecna’s curse when she and the rest of the Hawkins crew found a new gate to the Upside Down to kill him.
When they returned to the real world, Vecna caught Nancy and placed her under his curse, giving her a series of horrible visions.
He sent her to an empty pool covered with vines, where she saw Barb’s (Shannon Purser) corpse. Vecna started mentally torturing her by blaming her for Barb’s death.

He then showed her some flashbacks to his childhood, from the murder of his family to his arrival at Hawkins’ Lab.
From there, Vecna gave him visions of the Upside Down taking over Hawkins, putting the town on fire, and seeing a giant creature killing people, including her family and friends.
The Hints That Nancy Will Be Vecna’s Next Victim
Knowing Vecna victimizes people with past traumas, like Max (Sadie Sink), whose fate remains unknown, Nancy’s visions of the villain hint that she will be his next victim in Stranger Things Season 5, per Screen Rant.
But instead of killing Nancy, as he did to his past victims, Chrissy (Grace Van Diem) and Fred (Logan Riley Bruner), he might not kill him impromptu.

Instead, he may torture her first by focusing on her loved ones, which may result in their deaths.
Vecna May Kill Steve
After getting into Nancy’s mind, Vecna may have seen that she still has feelings for Steve (Joe Keery).
The two may have broken up, and Nancy is now with Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), but the time they spent in Stranger Things Season 4 showed they still love each other.
Add to that the theories that Steve may not survive the final season; there are claims that fans may see his death in Stranger Things Season 5.

To make his demise more dramatic, Vecna may kill Steve to torture Nancy, adding more trauma not just to her but to the rest of the main characters.
If this happens, they will be more vulnerable to Vecna’s curse.
Fans should only take these assumptions with a grain of salt, as nothing is confirmed yet.
