Stranger Things Season 4: Metallica Bassist Reveals Awesome Connection to Volume 2 Scene

There is little doubt that one of the best moments in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 was when Eddie Munson grabbed his guitar and began playing Metallica's Master of Puppets to distract the Demobats in the Upside Down. Now, the scene gets even better knowing that Metallica bass player Robert Trujillo revealed that it is secretly connected to the band in real life!

In the penultimate episode of Stranger Things Season 4, Eddie Munson managed to locate his guitar in the Upside Down and uses it to distract the Demobats from going after his friends. Eddie's song of choice is Master of Puppets and he dedicates the performance to the late Chrissy.

We already know that Joe Quinn performed alongside a double for the finger close-ups but the sequence also featured some additional guitar tracks by someone who is related to Metallica. In a new post on his Instagram account, Rob Trujillo congratulates his son Tye Trujillo for his awesome performance in Stranger Things. Amazingly, Rob also reveals that Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett helped Tye with the tracks!

Tye Trujillo is truly a chip off the old block. The son of Metallica's bass player is only 17 years old but has already performed with the likes of Korn and his father's former band Suicidal Tendencies. Tye is the current bassist of the funk metal band OTTTO.

We're loving how Metallica was somehow involved in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 to ensure that Eddie Munson's epic guitar scene would be as authentic as possible. The series had previously featured Metallica's The Four Horsemen in Season 2 in a scene connected to Billy. On a side note, Billy also appears in the guitar scene so it all makes sense to me.

All nine episodes of Stranger Things Season 4 are now streaming on Netflix.
