Star Wars: The Acolyte Reportedly Casts Logan Star Dafne Keen

For the past few months, we've been hearing a lot of major updates on the upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte as it started its production just recently after years of being in development. So far, the series has recruited a lot of well-known talent in its cast, and now it looks like another one has been added.

According to reporter Jeff Sneider in his The Hot Mic podcast, Logan and His Dark Materials star Dafne Keen is "wrapping up a deal" to join the cast of The Acolyte. Just like in the other casting news related to the series, the details regarding the role that she will play are under wraps at the moment.

Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland is serving as the showrunner of the series. Production is reportedly already underway in the United Kingdom. The cast already includes Amandla Stenberg, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, and Charlie Barnett.

The series is described as "a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era." It is expected to take place around 100 years before the events of The Phantom Menace.

Keen is known for playing Laura/X-23 in the 2017 film Logan which became her breakthrough role. She currently stars as Lyra Belacqua/Silvertongue in the HBO series His Dark Materials, which is set to premiere its final season this December.

This is certainly interesting casting news since it is a hint that we can expect a much younger character to be a significant part of the series and she's also a talented actress who has proven in high-profile projects that she is one of the rising stars that the industry should look out for in the next couple of years. Let's wait and see if we'll hear more casting news about the series soon.
