Star Wars: The Clone Wars Actor Joins Ahsoka Series

It looks like the cast of Ahsoka just got even cooler. The highly anticipated Star Wars series already boasts of an awesome cast but now they will be joined by someone who made a mark in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Thor: Ragnarok star Ray Stevenson has just been confirmed to join the upcoming Disney+ show!

The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Ray Stevenson is the latest addition to the cast of Ahsoka. Stevenson himself is no stranger to the Star Wars Universe, having played Gar Saxon in The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. But this time, it sounds like he's playing a completely different character.

According to the report, Stevenson has been cast as the villain who is described as "an admiral... although, not Thrawn." It's an interesting detail that seems to confirm that Lars Mikkelsen still has a chance at playing the live-action version of his Rebels character.

So if he's not playing Thrawn, who will Stevenson portray in Ahsoka? The natural choice would be the live-action version of Gar Saxon but the character has already been killed off. On the other hand, io9 points out that the Hobbit star may have been cast as Gilad Pellaeon from Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn trilogy. In the books, Pellaeon is Thrawn’s right-hand man and although the character's fate in Rebels is unclear, there's a good chance he will be confirmed to be alive.

Ahsoka will bring back Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, who made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian Season 2. The character also showed up in The Book of Boba Fett and is believed to return in the third season of The Mandalorian before she stars in her own show.

The Ahsoka series will also star Hayden Christensen, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. The series has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
