Star Wars: The Bad Batch - Cast and character overview, Sergeant Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, Tech, Fennec Shand, Emperor Palpatine, and everyone you need to know

Disney officially announced Star Wars: The Bad Batch in December 2020, as well as a few other notable shows such as a new Obi Wan series. The Bad Batch is expected to release in 2021 and focus on a crew of elite mutated clones that have special abilities. They were originally featured in an episode of the animated Clone Wars series. Since then it has become one of the most talked-about announcements in the new Disney+ Star Wars lineup.

There's no doubt that fans were asking for more when Star Wars: The Clone Wars concluded. The Bad Batch is essentially going to pick up where that show ended, which is around the time Emperor Palpatine executed Order 66 and wiped out the Jedi. This wasn't a good time to be a Jedi. I suppose that's why Disney chose to focus on the Bad Batch instead.

The Star Wars animated shows have always been about the characters, and The Bad Batch is no exception. Here is a breakdown of what we know so far about the characters that will appear in the show.

He is recognizable by his red bandana and skull-shaped tattoo partially covering his face. Hunter is well known for his superior combat capabilities.

Wrecker is the tank of the team. He's got a loud mouth and larger than life personality. If a job requires brute strength, he is the guy to call. Wrecker also has a boisterous personality and quite the sense of humor.

Crosshair

Crosshair is the best shot in the galaxy. He can hit a target 10 klicks away. This is partially because of his incredible eyesight due to a mutation. Crosshair has a bit of an abrasive personality and is a no-nonsense kind of character. He also contributes tactical knowledge to ensure the team's success.

Tech

Tech may be scrawny in size, but not in intelligence. Tech has superior skills in, wait for it… technology! He can quickly operate advanced machinery, hack into systems, and translate languages. He also has advanced knowledge of sciences that can be used in tough situations.

Fennec Shand

She isn't a member of the Bad Batch, but will make an appearance in the show. Fennec Shand is a mercenary for hire that appeared in The Mandalorian. She has worked for all the top outfits in the Galaxy and is known for her clever battle tactics.

Emperor Palpatine

The dark side of the Force is strong with Emperor Palpatine. He is incredibly strategic, manipulative, and merciless in action. Palpatine makes an appearance via Hologram in the trailer. What nefarious deeds will command in Star Wars: The Bad Batch?

Those are all the characters we know so far that will appear in Star Wars: The Bad Batch. The Bad Batch will release on Disney+ sometime in 2021.

The synopsis for the show is as follows: "The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill, which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose."
