Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi Drops Heartbreaking Surprise on Ewan McGregor's Jedi Master

There is a lot to unpack from the two-episode premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi as we learned that the Jedi Master wasn't simply hiding out in the desert on Tatooine all this time. Kenobi has been out for a few adventures on his own but that didn't stop him from encountering what is possibly his biggest heartbreak since the Clone Wars.

In Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 2, Kenobi is contacted by Bail Organa after his adopted daughter Leia is kidnapped by bounty hunters. Although he was able to find the young girl, they are followed by the Third Sister named Reva. During their interaction, Reva reveals to Kenobi that Anakin Skywalker is still alive.

Kenobi's reaction to the revelation was undoubtedly emotional. After all, he believed that he had left Anakin for dead on Mustafar 10 years ago. Needless to say, it was a real shock for Kenobi and fans felt for the Jedi Master.

It was truly a haunting scene considering that it immediately cut to Anakin waking up in a bacta tank. For some fans, the sudden switch was somehow unnerving.

Now that it is established that Anakin is still alive, there is little doubt that Kenobi will be haunted by the idea of his old friend who obviously holds a grudge against him. With that in mind, we can't wait for the first interaction between the two in the upcoming episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The Star Wars series will only consist of six episodes which means that there are only four more episodes after this week's premiere. Nevertheless, we're expecting every minute of the show to be well worth the wait.

Obi-Wan Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Joel Edgerton, Moses Ingram, and Kumail Nanjiani. The third episode has not yet been given an official title but is expected to be titled Part III. However, it is already set to premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.
