Star Wars: New Obi-Wan Kenobi Images Reveals First Look at Star Wars Lightsabers

The upcoming Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series promises to feature the rematch of the century between Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), the former teacher and student who last crossed lightsabers in a heated showdown on Mustafar back in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

The upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series set a decade after Order 66, sees the exiled Jedi Master unsheath his weapon when Dark Sided Force users the Fifth Brother (Sung Kang) and Reva (Moses Ingram), the Sith Lord Vader, and the Grand Inquisitor (Rupert Friend) hunt down the remaining survivors of the Great Jedi Purge – including Obi-Wan.

Liking the tweets from the official @obiwankenobi Twitter account gives you a close-up look at the weapons that the Grand Inquisitor, Reva, the Fifth Brother, Darth Vader, and Obi-Wan wielded. You can check out their weapons before they are in action in Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi streaming exclusively on Disney+ starting May 27, 2022.

Directed by Deborah Chow, who previously directed The Mandalorian series, the lightsaber fights in Obi-Wan Kenobi are "more in line with the prequels than we are with how the fights are in the original trilogy," according to Christensen in a recent interview with Total Film. "These characters have aged, but not that much yet." Christensen played Anakin Skywalker opposite McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi in 2002’s Attack of the Clones and the 2005’s Revenge of the Sith.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader, Moses Ingram as Inquisitor Reva, Ruper Friend as the Grand Inquisitor, Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars, Sung Kang as the Fifth Brother, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Benny Safdie, and Kumail Nanjiani.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to premiere its first two episodes on May 27, on Disney+.
