Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Counters ‘Demanding’ Gameplay With ‘Thoughtful’ Combat

This year's Electronic Entertainment Expo has been in full swing the past few days, and during the convention, gamers learned that Respawn Entertainment's upcoming release, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, would be similar to From Software's games like Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro.

Hardcore gamers know that these titles are pretty demanding. Sure, Dark Souls might give a gamer a sense of accomplishment while going through the game, but the game isn't easy at all. It might come as a surprise to some to see a demanding game being made for an audience as broad as the Star Wars gaming community.

According to Game Spot, Respawn's solution to Fallen Order's difficult gaming experience is "thoughtful" combat. The publication's writer, Tamoor Hussain, got a chance to play the game during E3 2019, and apparently, most of his hands-on experience was "spent in a combat arena getting a better handle of what this ‘thoughtful' combat" actually entailed.

The combat arena was a pretty plain area where gamers could run around swinging lightsabers to cut down enemies in the way. To Hussain, Fallen Order "feels a lot looser than Dark Souls, the general speed of movement and responsiveness is closer to Sekiro."

Respawn's "thoughtful" combat comes in the way gamers manage their enemies and do crowd control. You have to be efficient in taking out enemies in Fallen Order.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order could be a satisfying Star Wars gaming experience. We'll have to wait and see though.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is set for release on November 15, 2019.
