Star Wars Battlefront II Game Files Reveal Long-Awaited Arrival of Republic Commandos

Star Wars Battlefront II may finally be incorporating elements from Star Wars: Republic Commando. A Reddit user who datamined the Capital Supremacy update found files for the DC-17m, the first ever legitimate evidence to the arrival of the fan-favorite Delta Squad.

Fans were naturally ecstatic about this discovery as this is another relic of the Golden Age of the Old Republic that will be featured in the game, not to mention it is actually an efficient weapon to have in the battlefield. This could really be proof that the Republic Commandos are finally getting some love in the game. This might be Electronic Arts' answer to the prayers of many to see the 2005 first-person hit represented in new Star Wars releases.

EA has said in the past that while they are keen on adding the Clone Commandos in Star Wars Battlefront II, they are still figuring out how to neutralize their power to level the playing field. If this leak is anything to go by, they may have found a way to do that. Check out the leaked files below.

The DC-17m is an updated version of the DC-15 blaster that is essentially lighter and more versatile. It is basically three weapons in one as it can be configured different ways. This means you can tailor it to your needs using add-ons. You can transform it into a high-powered sniper rifle or an anti-armor grenade launcher. It can also be useful in close combat and is less prone to misfires.

This weapon was a staple in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which makes its potential addition to Star Wars Battlefront II all the more exciting. For now, nothing has been confirmed yet. The hope is that this is not a false alarm, as what a previous leak ended up being.

If the leakster may have stumbled upon something, Star Wars Battlefront II gamers should hear more about it soon.
