We're still waiting for the premiere of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds but it looks like the upcoming series already has awesome follow-up content. The new book Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - The High Country has just been announced and it's going to put the crew of the Enterprise in a potentially dangerous situation!
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - The High Country is the first tie-in novel for the upcoming Star Trek: Discovery spin-off series. The book is set to feature the cast of the show, which was recently confirmed to include a young Nyota Uhura back when she was a Cadet.
The upcoming novel is written by John Jackson Miller who also worked on the Star Trek Discovery novel The Enterprise War. The High Country will be released in November.
Here's the official synopsis for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - The High Country:
"When an experimental shuttlecraft fails, Captain Christopher Pike suspects a mechanical malfunction—only to discover the very principles on which Starfleet bases its technology have simply stopped functioning. He and his crewmates are forced to abandon ship in a dangerous maneuver that scatters their party across the strangest new world they've ever encountered.
"First Officer Una finds herself fighting to survive an untamed wilderness where dangers lurk at every turn. Young cadet Nyota Uhura struggles in a volcanic wasteland where things are not as they seem. Science Officer Spock is missing altogether. It's a terrifying thought that the Enterprise crew are stuck without any help. How will they escape this scary predicament? We'll find out this November.
