Star Trek: Picard Will Not Bring Back Four Cast Members in Season 3

The second season of Star Trek: Picard has ended its run and fans are now looking forward to the third season which will feature the much-awaited reunion of the main cast of The Next Generation. However, it looks like there are main cast members of the series who won't be returning in the next season.

According to TrekMovie.com, Alison Pill, Santiago Cabrera, Evan Evagora, and Isa Briones will not be returning in the third season of Star Trek: Picard. Pill confirmed her exit during an interview with MovieWeb prior to the airing of the second season finale. "I know that season three will be the end. I wasn't a part of season three, so I don't have much to say about it in terms of spoilers. I will get to watch along with everybody else," she said. Her exit came after her character, Agnes Jurati, officially became the new Borg Queen by the end of the season.

Cabrera, who played Chris Rios, confirmed his exit on his recent Instagram post. "It’s a been a hell of a ride," he wrote in his caption and then he added (in Spanish), "Last chapter of Picard appears today. I hope you enjoy it." His exit didn't come off as a surprise since his character decided to stay in the past during the season finale.

Evagora, who played Elnor, also took to Instagram to confirm his exit when he posted some behind-the-scenes photos from the second season. While his character was killed off earlier in the season, he was eventually resurrected during the second season although he is still not going to return in the next season despite that.

Just like her co-stars, Briones, who played Soji Asha and Kore Soong, also took to Instagram to confirm her exit as well when she posted a behind-the-scenes and wrote a lengthy caption expressing how "very thankful" she is for the experience and said farewell to her characters.

As a result, only Patrick Stewart, Michelle Hurd, and Jeri Ryan as the only cast members who are confirmed to be part of the third season. It is unknown yet if Orla Brady, who plays Laris and Tallinn, will also be returning although the second season finale did set up a path for her to continue playing Laris in the next season.

It is sad to hear that the aforementioned four cast members will not be part of the next season in some capacity since they were integral key parts of the first two seasons and they won't be part of the series' conclusion. On the bright side, they were able to have a good run and gave us characters that the viewers followed for two seasons.
