Star Trek 4: Zoe Saldana Says Quentin Tarantino's Film is a 'Gamechanger'

There is little doubt that fans are already expecting to see Zoe Saldana in Star Trek 4 and her return as Nyota Uhura is certainly a welcome one. However, it looks like the Avatar star actually had her eye on a completely different project. Saldana has just admitted that she was hoping to work on Quentin Tarantino's Star Trek movie because she believes it could have been a "gamechanger" for the franchise!

Zoe Saldana plays the Kelvin Timeline Uhura and she was mentioned as one of the returning cast members for Star Trek 4. Details about the new movie are still being kept secret but Saldana somehow confirmed that it will not be based on the script penned by Quentin Tarantino.

Interestingly, Saldana told Jake's Takes that she was eager to work on Tarantino's script when she first heard about it.

"I thought it was going to happen. I was like, 'Oh my god. Gamechanger. If I get to work with Quentin Tarantino on Star Trek,' whatever," Saldana said. She then pointed out what could have led to the project not being pursued by Paramount Pictures.

"I think it was a scheduling issue, but I never got a chance to read a page of that script! I would have loved to, and I just have a feeling that it would have been like a bloodbath. A bloodbath in space!" Saldana said.

It certainly sounds like an exciting project but one that we may not be seeing anytime soon. In the meantime, Zoe Saldana is set to reunite with the Kelvin Timeline cast this summer to begin working on Star Trek 4.

Saldana is currently filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and production on the sequel could be done by Summer. The film is scheduled for release on May 5, 2023.
