Webheads strongly believe that it's only a matter of time before Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures announce the involvement of Tobey Maguire in the upcoming Spider-Man film. This comes following the confirmation that Alfred Molina is making his return as Doctor Octopus in Tom Holland's yet-to-be-titled Spider-Man 3 film. New rumors also suggested that Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Kirsten Dunst have all signed on for the project but as it stands, nothing has been made official.
The last time we saw Maguire as Spidey was in 2007 and it can't be denied that his portrayal of the iconic Marvel character in Sam Raimi's trilogy has made a lasting impression on fans, myself included. Now, should Maguire make his way to Earth-616, what exactly should he look like and what state should he be in? A new image from artist @spdrmnkyxxiii has been making the rounds all over social media and it imagines Maguire as an older, more beaten up version of our favorite web-slinger. Check it out here:
Again, nothing has been officially confirmed yet but I can already tell you now that when the announcement finally happens, it'll break not only the internet but the entire geek community as well. We've waited for this moment to happen for close to 14 years now and we better be prepared.
