Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Batman Lead MTV Movie and TV Awards 2022


The 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards have announced their nominations honoring some of our favorite films and TV shows that premiered in the last several months. For this year's ceremony, they are going to combine both films and TV shows, and the non-scripted programming into one event next month.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is leading the list with seven nominations including Best Movie, Best Performance in a Movie (Tom Holland), Best Hero (Tom Holland), Best Villain (Willem Dafoe), Best Kiss (Tom Holland and Zendaya), Best Fight (Spider-Men end battle), and Best Team (Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire).

The Batman also made its way as they garnered four nominations in total including Best Movie, Best Performance in a Movie (Robert Pattinson), Best Villain (Colin Farrell), and Best Kiss (Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz).

Other MCU films and TV shows also managed to earn nominations with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (Best Movie, Best Hero for Simu Liu, and Best Fight for the bus fight scene), Loki (Best Show, Best Breakthrough Performance for Sophia Di Martino, and Best Team for Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, and Owen Wilson), Moon Knight (Best Hero for Oscar Isaac), and Black Widow (Best Hero for Scarlett Johansson and Best Fight for "Black Widow vs. Widows").

Dune was also able to receive nominations for Best Movie and Best Performance in a Movie for Timothee Chalamet. The Adam Project earned nominations in Best Movie and Best Team for Ryan Reynolds and Walker Scobell. Reynolds also received a nomination for Best Comedic Performance in Free Guy and Best Fight for the film's "Guy vs. Dude" scene.

On the television side, some of the notable nominations include Squid Game (Best Show and Best Breakthrough Performance for Jung Ho-yeon) and Peacemaker (Best Comedic Performance for John Cena).

It is great to hear these nominations as they deserve getting all this love from fans and the list is pact with popular TV shows and films that we've been talking about for the past several months. Of course, there's still one more step as fans now have to vote for the winners and it would be interesting to see which of them will win.
