The reception to Across the Spider-Verse has been positive for the most part, with a lot of fans claiming that it's one of the best Spider-Man films ever made.

However, a good number of folks who saw the film in theaters weren't exactly pleased with its audio, claiming that they can't hear the dialogue, especially during the film's opening sequence.

Turns out, it wasn't an isolated case as fans from across the globe have aired their dismay over the technical issue. Understandably, the poor audio ruined the entire viewing experience for a lot of fans who voiced out their frustrations on social media.

Now, what is intentional? Apparently not and co-writer Phil Lord addressed the matter on Twitter. According to him, the issue has a simple fix — changing the theater's sound mix settings.

Urging moviegoers to ask for assistance from theater personnel before seeing the flick, Lord said the film's audio should ideally have a 7.5 setting. He wrote: "Spider-Verse friends! if you get to the theater early and you want a fun mission ask someone to check that the theater volume is set at reference (7)! If it sounds a bit quiet, invite them to turn it up a touch to 7.5! If they give you flack... tell them we said it was okay."

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is showing in theaters everywhere.
