Sony's Uncharted Movie Gets Delayed AGAIN

After losing yet another director, it's not exactly groundbreaking news that Sony has decided to delay the Uncharted movie. Originally, the movie was supposed to come out this December but it has now been delayed by three months, now slated for a March 5, 2021 release. This isn't exactly surprising news, given the reputation of various video game movies, so let's hope that the extra time actually makes this film better.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, though not much else was revealed. There's still no replacement director, though we can all assume that Sony is doing their best to find a new one. Then again, we doubt that a movie that has gone through six directors will sound enticing to anyone in the industry.

It's actually a shame that Sony lost their last director for Uncharted, Travis Knight, who managed to revitalize the Transformers franchise with his solo Bumblebee film. We're all waiting for Sony to name a worthy replacement so let's just hope for the best. I mean, the games are basically just video game versions of movies like National Treasure and Indiana Jones so this shouldn't be too hard.

Fans will have to wait a bit longer before Sony's Uncharted movie becomes a reality. In the meantime, they can pick up Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection on PS4, along with Uncharted 4: A Thief's End if they want the full experience. They will probably be better than the movie.
