Sister Wives Star Christine Brown Is Having More Fun Without Kody

Christine Brown had been unhappy with her polygamous marriage to Kody Brown. The pair announced their separation in November after being together for over 25 years.

She and her children celebrated their first Christmas without Kody. In a sneak peek for Sunday's episode of Sister Wives Season 16, Christine hinted about a more fun holiday season without Kody.

"I do like my independence. I really do," she said in the exclusive sneak peek obtained by Us Weekly. "When Kody’s around, it’s fine. We do have a tendency to have more fun when he’s not there, though."

Sister Wives Star Christine And Kody Brown Split

Christine Brown didn't hide her unhappiness and frustrations in her marriage with Kody Brown. She felt that the polygamous patriarch of the Brown family no longer needed her because he has been focusing his attention on his fourth and legal wife, Robyn Brown.

"Why would I wanna live on a property with a dysfunctional marriage while right over there he has a fully functional marriage. Who would ever want to live like that," Christine said.

Before Sister Wives Season 16 aired, Christine expressed her interest in returning to Utah after the entire family moved to Arizona. She eventually did before announcing her split from Kody.

Although Christine had the guts to walk away from Kody, the decision was reportedly not easy for her.

"[Christine’s] really hurting. She really loved Kody. She gave him her all in hope that he would love her," a source told Us Weekly. "Kody has not been around at all. He used COVID-19 as a big excuse to not be around family. It’s been his ticket to freedom essentially. This destroyed Christine because she really tried to give her all to the marriage."

Kody implemented a strict COVID-19 restriction guideline in their family. Kody and Christine couldn't agree with it. Christine wanted him to lift it and suggested that they quarantine together as a whole family, so they will be together. However, Kody declined and decided to spend the lockdown with Robyn and their family.

Sister Wives Season 16 airs every Sunday at 10:00 p.m. ET on TLC.
