Apple TV+ has officially renewed the popular dramedy Shrinking for a second season, according to an announcement made today. The show, which features Hollywood heavyweights Jason Segel, Harrison Ford, and Jessica Williams, follows a team of therapists as they take an unconventional approach to mental health care. The first season has received critical acclaim, making the announcement of Shrinking Season 2 highly anticipated by fans.

Shrinking Season 2 Will Continue To Explore Plight Of Broken Humans

Without attempting to be a realistic depiction of the therapeutic process, Shrinking tells a heartbreaking and amusing story about how we are all flawed humans in desperate need of assistance.

It is reassuring to know that we are not alone with our problems, which helps to explain the series' enormous popularity. Unsurprisingly, Apple TV+ has decided to renew Shrinking early.

"We have loved the engaging, touching, and hilarious world of Shrinking since the beginning, and it has been wonderful to watch as audiences around the world continue to connect with these big-hearted characters," Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, said. "We can't wait for viewers to experience what the cast and creative team have for season two."

The World of Shrinking

The first season of Shrinking follows Jimmy (Segel), a bereaved therapist who abandons all ethics and begins telling his patients exactly what he thinks about their mental health difficulties. Jimmy's risky approach to treatment is prompted by his inability to cope with his loss, but the therapist ends up making catastrophic changes in people's lives, sometimes resolving traumas that traditional therapy could not.

Shrinking's first seven episodes are now available to watch on Apple TV+. Fridays bring new episodes to the streaming service. Shrinking's first season will conclude with 10 episodes, but there is no word on whether Shrinking Season 2 will follow the same format.

Bill Lawrence, an Emmy Award-winning executive producer of Ted Lasso, Brett Goldstein, an Emmy Award-winning star, writer, and co-executive producer of Ted Lasso, and Segel co-created Shrinking.
