With the fourth season now nine episodes strong, Overlord 4 revealed that a Rising of the Shield Hero star is joining the show’s cast as Albedo’s sister.

Specifically, it was revealed that voice actor Kikuko Inoue was cast as Nigredo, Albedo’s sister, who will make an appearance in the final few episodes of the anime.

The announcement was made via the Overlord 4 website and official Twitter account.

The announcement came with a visual of Nigredo, who, at first glance, shares a similar look to Albedo albeit with her clothes and hair in tatters. But a closer look shows that her face, which she keeps hidden with her hair, seemingly has no skin.

Adding to her frightening look is a pair of giant scissors which serve as the weapon of her choice.

Nigredo in Overlord is voiced by Kikuko Inoue, a veteran voice actor who is known for her role as Mirellia Q Melromarc in The Rising of the Shield Hero.

Inoue has been active in the anime industry for decades now, with her career as a voice actor beginning in the late 80s. One of her first iconic roles is Kasumi Tendo in Ranma ½.

She is also known for voicing other popular characters over the years, including Sanae Furukawa in Clannad, Lust in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, I-No in Guilty Gear, and Shuuko Komi in Komi Can’t Communicate.

Overlord is an isekai anime series by Madhouse that’s based on the ongoing light novel series of the same name by Kugane Maruyama.

The anime began with Season 1 which was released back in 2015, and it was followed up with Seasons 2 and 3 which were released in 2018.

The series follows Momonga, a player of the YGGDRASIL, a long-running MMORPG that is about to shut down. As a dedicated player, Momonga was online during the final hours of YGGDRASIL.

Instead of shutting down and being booted out of the game, Momonga finds himself still as his skeletal in-game avatar.

He soon finds out that his guild, Ainz Ooal Gown, has been transported to another world, and that the guild’s NPCs turned into living beings.

Thus, Momonga sets out to learn more about the world while establishing his guild as a major power.

Overlord’s story continues in Season 4 which is currently airing, with new episodes being released every week on Crunchyroll.
