She-Hulk: Jameela Jamil Reveals Titania's Heartbreaking Backstory

WARNING: This article contains spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) may have won the court battle against Jameela Jamil's Titania in securing the She-Hulk trademark, but still, the fan enthusiasm for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's elegant villain remains strong.

Aside from being iconic, we don't really have much info about Titania's honest intentions and even a little of her backstory wasn't divulged. Thankfully, in a recent interview with TVLine, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's Jameela Jamil finally shed some light on Titania's depressing backstory and how it affected her villainous motivations:

“She is always trying to get over her childhood of being bullied. So everything is an opportunity for victory for her…. She is so annoying.”

Jamil — who is widely known for dressing up as an "influencer" in real life, said that playing an extremely annoying villainous influencer was "cathartic" and "fun."

"I think the idea of having an influencer, a toxic influencer, as a supervillain is quite apt, and having to play the opposite of everything I stand for was quite cathartic. It was cathartic and fun."

Lastly, the actress revealed that her extensive research for her public advocacies was really substantial for her role as Titania.

"Publicly, I've taken a few stands against a few things influencers do or put out there into the world. I'd already done a lot of research from all my public advocacy, so I knew exactly what I wanted to portray in this character. All of the evils that I think we most need to call amongst a few select influencers. Some are great, but some are just the worst."

Aside from Episode 1's court battle, fans haven't yet seen a more epic showdown between She-Hulk and Titania, and it seems the villain is just interested in pestering the titular heroine. With that said, Titania may just be a side villain, with fans speculating that the creeping big bad of the series is Tim Roth's Emil Blonsky aka Abomination.
