Shazam! Fury of the Gods Star Spoils Major Aquaman 2 Cameo

WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS AND AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Cameos or waiting for the mid- or post-credit scenes are usually what superhero fans look forward to every time there’s a new movie from their favorite franchise. That said, they don’t like getting spoiled or knowing beforehand which characters are going to show up and when. Jack Dylan Grazer is one of the stars of DCU's latest movie, Shazam! Fury of the Gods accidentally revealed a massive Justice League cameo that will be seen in the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

In a recent interview with Fandom Entertainment, Grazer mistakenly spilled that Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman is set to have a brief appearance in Aquaman 2. “Gal Gadot flew in from London that day and she was like, 'Are you filming the 'Shazam' movie?' She comes in very mystique, she's like the Lady in the Water. She comes in and she's like splashing around like a mermaid.” he narrated. “And she walks in and she's like, 'You guys are filming 'Shazam 2?' I just got off the set of 'Aquaman.' It's very good to see you.' And we're like, 'Oh my god, she's here. Wonder Woman is here!'”

Both aforementioned DCU sequels began filming around the same time in mid-2021 and will be released this year. If Gadot does appear in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, it will be the third DC film to have its Wonder Woman cameo leaked before release. A week before Fury of the Gods premiered in theaters, promotions suggested that The Princess of Themyscira make an appearance, prompting director David F. Sandberg to offer a warning to fans who wanted to "go in fresh." As for The Flash, which will come out months between Fury of the Gods and The Lost Kingdom, recently revealed Funko POP! figures for the film that hint it also stars the Goddess of Truth.

Gadot's Wonder Woman future in the DCU has yet to be confirmed. Every time co-CEO James Gunn is asked what fate the Red Notice star has in the franchise, he always settles for giving vague responses. In December 2022, Gunn debunked the information that he fired Gadot as the warrior-hero, saying, "I'm not sure where you're getting that we 'booted' Gal." With him and Peter Safran unveiling their initial DC slate, the only Diana Prince-related project announced is Paradise Lost, a prequel series examining Themyscira, a.k.a. Paradise Island, Wonder Woman's home, and it is yet to be confirmed if Gadot will be seen in the upcoming project.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is currently playing in cinemas worldwide.
