Sharon Stone has been cast in a recurring role opposite Kaley Cuoco in The Flight Attendant Season 2, a big cast addition to the Emmy-nominated series.

Steve Yockey's dark comedy, based on Chris Bohjalian's eponymous book, stars Cuoco as Cassie, a flight attendant whose world is turned upside down when she wakes up with a dead guy in her bed and no memories of how it happened. Her one-night stand turns into a CIA probe, an assassination assignment, and more shady business as questions surrounding her deceased lover emerge.

The Flight Attendant Season 2: Meet Lisa Bowden

Stone will play Cassie's estranged mother, Lisa Bowden, who prefers to remain estranged. Lisa Cassie's patience and goodwill have worn thin after a lifetime of dealing with Cassie's alcoholism.

Cassie's mother appears only briefly in one flashback sequence in Season 1; the character is expanded out in a Season 2 storyline.

After focusing on Cassie's heartbreaking relationship with her late father in Season 1, the upcoming second season of the hit HBO Max series will focus on Cassie's relationship — or lack thereof — with her mother.

According to Cuoco, Cassie's partnership with the CIA will not be uncomplicated. She tends to get herself into sticky, even deadly situations, as we saw in the first season, and this will most likely continue in her next chapter.

When Will TFA Season 2 Premiere?

According to a sizzle reel from HBO Max, it will be in 2022. There isn't a set date yet. And based on Cuoco's set images from Germany, filming began in September 2021. The cast is now filming in Los Angeles, Berlin, and Reykjavik, according to a Variety report dated January 11.

Recurring cast members Zosia Mamet (Annie), Griffin Matthews (Shane), Deniz Akdeniz (Max), and Rosie Perez (Megan) are also set to return, as well as guest stars T.R. Knight (Davey), Yasha Jackson (Jada), and Audrey Grace Marshall (young Cassie).

The Season 1 finale also left numerous unsolved issues, such as Megan and Miranda's (Michelle Gomez) whereabouts. Though the latter was thought to be dead near the end of the series, a cliffhanger in the final episode suggested that she is still alive.

“It would be great to have some more Miranda [in Season 2], absolutely,” Yockey told TVLine, confirming her return.
