According to Radar Online, Shania Twain’s friends are worried that her recent weight loss might have been the result of the bad habits she developed while trying to achieve her unrealistic weight loss goals.
An unnamed source also claimed that Twain is fixated on her body image and that she needs to gain some healthy weight back.
“She needs to put some healthy weight back on or risk facing a host of health dangers,” the source said.

But the singer’s unnamed friend alleged that Twain decided to lose weight in preparation for her upcoming shows that will kick off in April.
“She’s competing on the road with the Taylor Swifts and Beyonces of the world as well as a new crop of young country cuties. She wants to look her best, but she’s taken it too far. Even her own doctors tell her such a dramatic drop in weight can trigger all sorts of health problems,” the source said.

During her interview with The Sunday Times in December, Twain revealed that her stepfather physically and sexually abused her. This cruel deed caused the singer to feel exploited for her own body at such a young age.
“I hid and I would flatten my boobs. I would wear bras that were too small for me, and I’d wear two, play it down until there was nothing girl about me. Make it easier to go unnoticed. Because, oh my gosh, it was terrible—you didn’t want to be a girl in my house. Then you go into society and you’re a girl and you’re getting the normal other unpleasant stuff too, and that reinforces it. So, then you think, ‘Oh, I guess it’s just [expletive] to be a girl. Oh, it’s so [expletive] to have boobs.’ I was ashamed of being a girl,” Twain said (via Prevention).
At the age of 22, the singer was forced to take care of her younger siblings after her parents died in a car crash. She said that she was performing as an attractive woman and it triggered her anxiety.
“What was so natural for other people was so scary for me. I felt exploited, but I didn’t have a choice now. I had to play the glamorous singer and had to wear my femininity more openly or more freely. And work out how I’m not gonna get groped, or raped by someone’s eyes, you know, and feel so degraded,” she said.
